Potential Vaccine treatments for Covid-19
They are many types of vaccines that have been announced as potential treatment of the Covid-19 Vaccine. The most popular vaccines that have enter trials are the protein-based vaccines, the inactivated vaccine, mRNA and DNA vaccines. Protein-based vaccines are constituted of a more traditional approach involving only protein injection of the virus. Protein–based vaccines work by imitating protein shape on the live virus and create a strong immune reaction by stabilizing the pre-fusion form of viral fusion proteins (stopping the virus from entering the healthy cell). DNA vaccines are one of the safest vaccines and are easily producible. They are reliable because they are non-viable which means that they eliminate the infection development risk in a vaccinated person. mRNA vaccines have been used to treat other viruses that are in same category as the Covid-19 virus. Therefore, they show promise as potential treatment of the Covid-19 virus. Moreover, the inactivated vaccines can also be used as a potential Covid-19 vaccine because it has shown promise in treating Severe Acute Respiratory syndrome (SARS). Inactivated vaccine is composed of virus particles that are produced in culture and have lost their capacity to cause a disease. Pathogens for inactive vaccines are grown under control and they get killed as a tool in order to decrease harmfulness so that an infection from the vaccine can be prevented. The inactivated vaccines studies have shown that is not seemed to be effective on older animals therefore more research is being carryout to alleviate the problems. As a result, all the vaccines are going through different trial phases to improve the efficiency in treating the Covid-19 vaccine and one will soon be on the way
